Set Construction/Repair, Set Up/Tear Down, Wardrobe
THIS is where things begin to feel REAL!
Set building days are always buzzing with anticipation and excitement with the sound of drills and the smell of fresh trees! Then, as walls go up, and sets begin to go into place, you walk into the gym and are immediately met with the sights and smells of Bethlehem! And although tear down is tiring, there is an air of thanksgiving in the room for what God has done over the weekend – the people that have been saved and the new friendships have been made – you feel the community in the room! There is truly nothing like it.
Set Construction/Repair Requirements: In preparation for this big event, we need help with assembling various parts of Bethlehem to see what needs to be replaced of fixed. This will include assembling tree stands and constructing palm trees.
Please label and bring your own tools (if available) to the gym on Saturday, September 20, Saturday, September 27, AND Saturday, December 6 12noon to 3pm.
Set Up: We need help with the set-up and decorating of various vignettes inside the gym. We will work as a team to raise Bethlehem in less than 72 hours! This includes putting together all the backdrops & flats, positioning the trees, arranging the props, etc. Setup times are on Tuesday, December 9 from 3:30-9pm, Wednesday, December 10 from 9am-9pm, and Thursday, December 11 from 9am-9pm (or until completed).
Tear Down: Once the tours are completed, it’s time to dismantle our beautiful creation. After the performance on Sunday December 14, we will need all the help we can get in tearing down each of the sets, packaging and labeling them, and cleaning up the building so that it’s ready for The King’s School classes the next day. The more people we have to help with this, the faster it will go!
Wardrobe: Our costumes consist of many different pieces for each performer and we need help keeping them organized, as well as working with the acting coordinators to ensure we have wardrobes for each performer. NO SEWING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED; however, see below for what will be required as part of wardrobe.
